Last 12th of may was the deadline for submitting applications to the call for two international residencies organized by PEN Català, in collaboration with the City Council of Barcelona and in the framework of the UNESCO Cities of Literature.

The aim of the residencies is to promote the mobility of authors linked to PEN centers and ICORN, two international networks of which PEN Català and the city of Barcelona are part.

A total of twelve applications were received, of which two were selected. The beneficiaries of the residency are:

Suzane Ibrahim: A syrian writer, poet and journalist currently exiled in Sweden, where she arrived as a writer hosted by the ICORN network of refugee cities.

Caroline Brothers: An australian writer and journalist currently living in London and member of English PEN.

We can only congratulate the two selected writers and thank all the candidates for the time they have dedicated to present their candidacy and wish them a successful literary career!
