The call for submissions for the second edition of the Roissy-en-Brie Poetry Prize for Refugees has come to a close. This prize aims to recognize the literary talent of people who have been forced to leave their country of origin. On the one hand, we want to rescue careers that may have been interrupted due to exile. On the other hand, the prize also seeks to help break stereotypes about migrants and refugees by highlighting their talent and abilities.

PEN Català has received 21 works from refugee authors from various parts of the world, including China, Ukraine, Bangladesh, Syria, Palestine, Colombia, and Kurdistan, among others. All the works have been submitted in the respective languages of each participant, including Arabic, Uyghur, Persian, Spanish, English, and Turkish.

The winner of the Roissy-en-Brie Poetry Prize will be announced on November 15, coinciding with the International Day of the Imprisoned Writer and the events organized for the Veu Lliure Prize.

The first edition of the prize was held in 2021, when Syrian poet Nesrine Khoury won with her collection of poems Pas en fals al marge de la història, which PEN later published in a bilingual edition.
